Footprints…Part 2
Six months ago I started a small quest of my own...guided by the belief that there are many good people who have had great influences in my life....and didn't know it. My goal was to reach out to them just to let them know I appreciate what they have done for me both personally and professionally. But I will admit to a bit of hesitation....and so what I decided to do was to test the waters and first reach out to people personally, especially those in my life that don't use Facebook or today's modern technology. I wanted to see if my quest was one that others would embrace or welcome.
Over the six months I have come to realize that we all love rekindling old friendships and reliving those moments of our life where we grew….where we failed….and where we got back up again. I came to see that many people who have known me over the years see me in a much different light than I saw myself. (People who are my friends now somehow cannot ever believe I was actually at one time a very shy young man)
I will admit that some I have reached out to have not welcomed nor been impressed by my quest….and I can understand and respect that. Some conversations were nothing more than a simple “thank you” and 5 minutes of a phone or email conversations. And others were long conversations among friends who were simply divided by time and distance…
So...in light of what I have encountered in this first few months, I have decided that I want to continue my little journey. So, for those who are here who are both former classmates and long-time friends, I will say…watch your message box…because for many of you I owe you a “Footprint”.
